Baby Massage Classes
Class Information
The Nurture Space Southampton is dedicated to providing high-quality baby massage classes, suitable for babies aged 6 weeks to active crawlers.
Our experienced instructors create a nurturing environment that promotes the physical and emotional development of babies while supporting parents in their journey.
We run massage classes in 4 week blocks, classes are 1 hour long and each week we will cover a new massage technique. By week 4 you will be confident enough to give your baby a full body massage.
Week 1 - Legs and Feet
Week 2 - Chest and Tummy
Week 3 - Arms and Hands
Week 4 - Face and Back
Following each session you will receive a video recap of the massage covered.

The Benefits of Baby Massage
Baby massage is a holistic way to try and support your baby with any discomforts they may face.
Gentle massage can help relieve baby of trapped wind, constipation, support digestion and can help with Colic.
Many research studies have been conducted on infant massage. Including one by Underdown (2006) at The University of Warwick. This study concluded that babies who experienced regular massage slept better and cried less. Babies who received massage also had lower Cortisol "stress hormones".
The Benefits of massage also extend to mums, it is a wonderful bonding experience to massage your baby. A study in 2002 by the Imperial College London, found that in mums with postnatal depression symptoms, massage classes significantly improved symptoms and enhanced the mother and baby bond.
